Strategies for Navigating the Health Care System
In August 2006, the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE, www.nefe.org) and Georgetown University’s Health Policy Institute (hpi.georgetown.edu & healthinsuranceinfo.net) collaborated on three guides to assist consumers in finding and keeping health insurance coverage. These three guides are now available online for free:
- Understanding Private Health Insurance
- Medicare and Medicaid: A Health Care Safety Net for People with Serious Disabilities and Chronic Conditions
- Options for Avoiding and Managing Medical Debt
PLUS: Evaluating Health Insurance Choices Worksheet (A 2-page worksheet to help compare cover options under private insurance.)
Thanks to the folks at ResourceShelf for the links to these great resources.
